Physical education and sports

The Ushachi region has a 3,000-seat stadium, 18 rural stadiums and sports grounds, 34 groups of physical education. In 2007 the region hosted over 40 sports events including nine sports holidays. The region has trained two masters of sports and five candidates of masters of sports. The Belarusian national teams include Ushachi region residents Nastya Leshkova and Valeriya Dzhurayeva (judo). Elena Koreisha is a many-time champion of Belarus in free-style wrestling, prizewinner of the world and Europe’s championships. Piotr Vorotynsky is a world champion in summer polyathlon.

Special attention is turned to the development of agro-ecotourism.

The region has a great potential in organizing hunting tours.
