Belarus, Russia busy building seamless digital services for citizens

VITEBSK, 25 September (BelTA) – A joint meeting of the boards of the labor and social protection ministries of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation is taking place in Vitebsk, BelTA has learned.

During the event the parties will present the experience and best practices of Belarus and Russia in digitizing the processes of providing social services and support measures to citizens. The parties will also discuss the implementation of the main guidelines on implementing the Union State Foundation Treaty’s provisions on labor and social affairs in 2024-2026.

“We chose the topic ‘human-centricity’ because our systems should work to simplify the provision of services to people. Today we will review the matters of digitizing our system and of providing seamless, proactive services by the systems of the labor and social protection ministries of Belarus and Russia. We have something to share, and at the board meeting we will adopt a joint decision that will allow our systems to develop further,” Belarusian Labor and Social Protection Minister Andrei Lobovich said.

“Today the discussion will cover the implementation of an active longevity program to follow up on the convention taking place in Vitebsk. We will also touch upon two important topics related to digitizing the process of providing social assistance to the population. I am very pleased that the main approaches and main trends in developing this topic coincide. It is understandable that there are individual regional and cross-country differences, but at the same time the approaches to implementing policy in the social sphere are similar. First of all, this is, of course, orientation toward the person, giving them an opportunity to receive the required support measures as easily as possible. This includes both the simplicity and the speed of decision-making on the part of public authorities. It is also the ability to inform a person in a proactive manner about what they are entitled to. All this forms the basis of the main guidelines for the development of the social sphere, which exist both in Russia and in Belarus,” Russian Labor and Social Protection Minister Anton Kotyakov added.
